Having started our short film project and finishing all the paper work needed to start shooting, only one thing was left, the CAST. As producer i had allocated my director to find the cast and this would be easy for him seeing as he studies acting outside his film production course. Out of the 25 actors we as a team only chose 5. After choosing the actors we had to all sit together and see how the actors cope with the full script and see if anything needed changing or even adding. After having all the changes were done by the script writer we were ready to start filming. I had then scheduled to start reharsing 2 days before our main shoot which would take place on the 18th and 19th of july. We had 5 scenes spaced out for 2 days of shooting, 3 out door scenes and 2 indoor scenes. All the scenes that were ment to be outdoors had to be done in the day time, starting to shoot at 8 am till 6pm. Everything was going to plan until arriving at our first location at mushrif park, discovering that it was closed till 11am because it was Eid. Waiting in the heat was a no go so i took the cast and the rest of my team to a resturant near by were we had breakfast and practiced more before going back to the park. As we got headed back to the destination we got the ball moving having the equiptment ready and the cast ready to go to start shooting. More time was consumed because the heat got the better of some of us so more water breaks needed to be given. However, after all the breaks and laughter we had on set we had finished all the scenes on the same day and did not need day 2 of shooting. The day was full of experiences, and in my opinion it was important for all us to go thru it all together and learn how to solve issues and stay postive under all the pressure we faced.
