Principles Within Pre-Production

In this Blog i will be discussing the factors that we as group did wrong and right. The good thing about making a mistake, is learning from it and making sure you do not do it again.

The paperwork and scheduling for the documents needed went well as expected, as a group we worked exceptionally well and met all the deadlines given by me as the Producer. After finishing the documents, we started scouting for locations and the casting process. With the help of our director we managed to organise the casting were people came to audition and see if they fit the roles given to them. Eventhough, most of the auditionese were refused to take part i specifically made sure i kept there contact information and left with them on a good note, so that in the future i can possiblely involve them in my projects.

Finishing shooting on time was a must for to give time to the editor to edit. As an editor previously i know how long it takes to edit and watch videos and to even choose the right scenes and parts to use for the final product. Eventhought there were ups and downs during the editing phase keeing in my the final draft hasnt been done yet, it got very intense for myself and the rest of the team. Unknowingly we had consumed more time editing than asked for, however this should be finished before the deadline and cannot wait to watch it.

I can safely say im very happy to be working with a great team of enthusiastic students ready to learn and driven to produce the best they can. I have learnt that communication is the key to having a great final project. Facing problems was not easy to solve because to me they were the main points that needed to work perfectly such as; our Art Director was very hard to get hold of and very hard to trust his word, which in my case this is very important to have between each other and that is trust. Also lack of props lack of costumes and permits. If i had not taken care of this role we could of had a failed project and i was not gona let that happen to my fellow students.

Overall I would like to thank everyone that got envolved in the project and helped out with this wonderfull outcome of a short movie.
